Deep in the demon realm where chaos and darkness reign, a lone beacon of light struggled to stay ablaze and bring hope to those who need it. In a world where the weak so commonly got used and abused by the strong it was rare for anyone to stand up for what is just.
"I won't let your evil go unchecked!" The Swordswoman of Fire: Maeve snarled as she lifted her mighty Great Sword up. Standing behind her was pair of cowering imps, though they may as well have been children compared to her and the hulking beast that stood in front of them. A bluky cyclops, towering at over nine feet loomed over the dragon warrior and it's prey behind her. With a low grunt, the beast would take his giant club in hand and take a step towards them, he wouldn't be denied his prey he'd just tear through the girl to get to them.
The girl's knees lowered easing her into a battle stance as the cyclops took hold of his massive club. She had figured there would be some resistance and she was ready to take the beast on. Her gold eyes fixated on the massive club for a moment however as she steeled herself for the upcoming bout. The spiked iron weapon he carried was almost as tall as she was! A solid hit from that would send her reeling in pain. She had to be careful... She had to move with the flow...She had to empty her mind and let Serenity guide her.
"Puny dragon! I'll crush you in an instant." The cyclops' deep voice rumbled out as he lifted his massive club high into the air. "Just don't get too much blood on my club! HAHA!" He let out a disgusting laugh as he brought the club down with enough force to shatter an ordinary man's bones. The intent to kill, crush, maim, and destroy permeated around him as he made his first devastating swing.
...But like a leaf on a still pond Maeve danced out of the way of the attack, her face remained unfazed as the club smashed into the stone floor beneath them turning all it connected with into gravel.
"What the?! Stop moving so I can crush you!" The cyclops growled as he lifted his club and this time attempted to smash Maeve's side with it. She kept a straight face however as she watched it come. Before it hit she'd bring up her blade and use it to cover her side, readying herself for the oncoming club that threatened to pulverize her. "That's not gonna save you! I'm gonna smash you good Hah!"
The sound of clashing steel filled the air as the club and blade connected, and though the force caused her to slide a bit Maeve stood her ground. Her golden eyes narrowed in on the beast before her as she pushed his club aside. The confidence that seemed to be overflowing from the cyclops seemed to fade fast as the realization that Maeve wasn't just going to roll over and allow herself to die came to his mind. This bit of fear was quickly replaced by indignant anger as his face contorted into a dark scowl. "HEY! WHY AREN'T YOU SMASHED YET?! STO-"
"I'm only going to tell you this once. Apologize and promise to stop taking advantage of others you deem weaker and you can walk away. If you resist, I will strike you down here and now." She spoke clearly and firmly as she interrupted his little tantrum. The even tone and sharp glare made it very evident that she was being deadly serious. For a brief moment, it even caused the cyclops to mentally reflect on his actions, He shook his head however and ended up lifting his club once more.
"NO! THE WEAK GET CRUSHED! THAT'S THE RULE!" He roared as he grabbed his club with both hands and readied to beat down the dragoness until there was nothing but a fine bloody pulp where she was standing.
"I guess it is."
Maeve looked up to the charging cyclops and readied herself once more. With her sword in hand she waited for the brute to get close enough. She didn't want to kill anyone, even someone as cruel and violent as this. She couldn't just let him go around doing what he pleased however. She had to stop him. She had to fight!
With renewed vigor Maeve would gather her ki slightly before matching her gaze with the charging behemoth. With a blinding flash of steel her blade would dance across the cyclops' body. Five bleeding cuts would burst open instantly, one for each limb and one across the chest.
The imps looked on at the display with wide eyes, they couldn't even register her attack! It was like she just looked at the Cyclops and he started to bleed! "W-Woah miss dragon! That was really scary!" One of them said hiding their face behind the other.
"Wawa! How did you even do that?!" The other stared in disbelief, clearly stunned by the display. Maeve paid little attention to the imps and kept her sword up and ready. The cyclops was slowed but still standing after taking a direct assault from her Chaotic Rebellion Star technique, he was stronger than she was anticipating... The position of her cuts should have disabled him completely. He was resisting the pain from each cleave so he could still fight. Why...Why didn't he just give up? Still, even if he wouldn't give in... She wouldn't lose. She couldn't lose!
"Y-You do well! Haha You do well! Here I thought all you could do is run away... I'm gonna enjoy this!" The cyclops grinned as he continued his approach. He seemed to be walking slower however, as his wounds were leaking blood and forcing him to take his time getting to her.
Maeve jumped back, looking to the two imps behind her. "You two get out of here while you still can." She barked, her intense gaze saying all it needed to say. The two imps just sort of stared back at her however. One was far too scared to move and the other just seemed like she was waiting for Maeve to pull out another special move. "For the love of-"
Before Maeve could finish she would feel a yank at her draconian tail before feeling her center of gravity shift as she was pulled back by the tail. "GOT YOU! HAHA! I GOT YOU!" The large cyclops gave out another disgusting laugh as he began to idly swing the dragon warrior by the tail. "You should have kept your eye on me! Or better yet you should have just run away! Those imps are dead regardless you could have saved yourself!" He jeered as he tossed Maeve into the air by her tail. "NOW I'M GONNA SPLATTER YOU ALL ACROSS THE REALM!" He laughed as he lifted his club readying it like a baseball bat.
Maeve wasn't going to let the cyclops have his way though. She righted herself as best as she could as she was flung through the air. Taking Fateburn in hand she would ready herself as she fell. "I-I won't lose!" She yelled, her golden eyes turning vicious as she readied her Demon Skull Beheading attack. As she began to fall faster and faster towards the brute she would cry out. Her great cleaver whistled while cutting the air as she fell towards her target.
"Hey?! What are you doing?! Aren't you scared?!" The cyclops asked, Maeve's positioning and the wild look in her eyes making him hesitate slightly. That minimal hesitation was the opening Maeve needed though, for before the cyclops could even think her mighty cleaver would smash through his skull. He let out a choke and a gurgle as the whistling blade cut through the entirety of his nine and a half foot body.
Maeve would hit the ground with a loud crash. She stood up slowly and flicked her blade of the demon's blood. A frown was plastered on her face as she walked away from the cyclops. The imps stared in a mixture of fear and disbelief as the cyclops' form finally split down the middle in one clean cut.
Maeve couldn't look at the result of her handiwork however. She hadn't wished to kill him, she didn't want to kill anyone. She had no choice though... It would have been her or the imps if she hadn't stepped up to stop him or if she had hesitated to use her full power. "...Are you two alright?" She simply said, not looking back to them.
"Y-Yeah...Thanks miss. You saved our skins!" The timid, frightful one said with a stammer.
"Yeah he was a bully! We won't bully anyone either. We don't want to get the dragon lady mad!" The excitable but not too bright one chimed in.
Looking back finally Mave would pause, briefly to take in the sight of the two. Breaking her frown she would leave with a parting word.
"See to it that you don't... Remember that even if you become strong you had to start somewhere... Don't take advantage of those beneath you just because you can."
With that final word, she would leave the two... Returning home to hopefully get some much needed rest.

As she returned home to the great castle of Rakshasa, she would be greeted to the sight of her father. The great dragon lord stood in her way and glowered down at his daughter as she approached. "What were you doing?" He simply snapped, his booming voice forcing Maeve's headfins to drop in submission at the tone alone.
"...Fighting." She responded quietly, keeping her golden gaze down and away from her father's. The towering dragon, despite being family, had an aura of sheer chaotic intimidation radiating from him. Even if he held any fondness for his kin it wasn't evident now. The way he looked down at her wasn't one of a disappointed or angry parent. It was one of a predator baring down upon it's prey.
"Out playing the hero again no doubt..." He hissed, though the thick scent of blood made his snarl lessen. He could tell that she had least fought with her all, and that she showed no mercy. "...You know, I've let you follow your ideals. I questioned how one of us could be so soft but as the youngest daughter I let it slide." He began, slowly pacing around the girl. "I figured you'd grow sick with the weak filth you were spending all your time with. I figured you would exercise your right as the superior and slaughter them all. You never did... You've constantly lived your life as a disappointment. Not just to me but to your ancestors!" He roared.
"Our blood burns for battle and dominance. You refuse that basic drive though... You fight, but you hold back. You try to save everyone. You treat them as equals! It's disgusting!" He snapped reaching his massive hands down, his palms large enough to cup her head and crush it. He stopped however, letting his trembling daughter stand in the literal shadow of death, his hands hovering beside her head.
"...The worst of it was I thought you would end up growing out of this. Your troublesome heroics have recently become a throne in my side... There's more to this than my utter contempt for you." He said, voice lowering as he moved his hands away, content to just loom over her.
"What...What do you mean?" She asked, finally looking up to her father, his wording seeming to imply that she was in actual trouble.
Not saying anything for a moment the father would turn. "Follow." He ordered. Maeve did as she was told though she couldn't help but notice a feeling of dread in the air...

Later, on Earth...
The sun shone brightly over the beach. it was about midday, the tide had been coming in and the seagulls circled the sky, their cries echoed out into the pure blue horizon. It was a nice enough day but the beach seemed mostly empty. It was a peaceful scene, the crashing waves creating a very soothing atmosphere.
Something odd would drift unto the scene though. Coming in with the tide would be a peculiar young woman with medium length ruby read hair, scales, and various dragon-like features on both her face and body. She was wearing a set of regal looking armor with an absolutely drenched cape. Washing up beside her was a thick sword and a helmet of some sort. Her eyes were shut but she was still breathing. Despite being so vastly different than most people on Earth, the woman had a sort of soft warmth to her face. As she lay with her eyes closed she looked so innocent and peaceful.
A scene played out in her mind though as she lay dreaming. The young draconian demon was running, with tears welling up in her eyes. She just ran without looking back. "Dammit...Dammit all! How could I have been so foolish?! Stupid heroism, stupid stupid STUPID!" She shouted to herself as she ran not intending to go anywhere really. She just wanted to run. Her vision was blurred by her stream of tears so she easily took a misstep and stumbled. She fell to the ground, and with her ruby bangs covering her face and eyes she began to sob.
She clenched her fists as she started beating on the barren ground. She thought of the Fox Spirit who had been more family to her than her own family. "Akemi..." She said softly to herself. "...I messed up... Akemi..." She said looking down not wanting to look to the sky "...I was sloppy, I got caught helping a slave escape and now my father is readying to banish me...I don't care about leaving this place or my family but...I'm going to be leaving you... You're more of a mom than my real mother...I'm scared Akemi...I don't want to be alone..." Though she was alone for now... She couldn't find Akemi anywhere.
She never got to say goodbye... As she lay on the beach her shut eyes watered lightly...This was certainly a mess she had found herself in...She had no idea where she would wake up and find herself...
She was alone...
"I won't let your evil go unchecked!" The Swordswoman of Fire: Maeve snarled as she lifted her mighty Great Sword up.
